If we told you the list of the top 10 most expensive cars to insure is comprised of only 4 car brands, do you think you could name them?
In no particular order, the list includes Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, … and Nissan. (Yes, Nissan!)
It may surprise you to learn that the Nissan is at the top of the list.
Let’s see where the rest of the cars fall on the list of the top 10 vehicles that are the most expensive to insure in 2019.
Nissan GT-R takes top prize
As mentioned above, topping the list is the Nissan GT-R. It made a pretty big jump from last year’s list, where it held down the 8th most expensive spot.
The sporty coupe, which comes with a $100,000 price tag, costs around $3,941 per year to insure. With its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine cranking out 565 horsepower, coupled with the maximum speed of close to 200 MPH, it’s easy to see why insuring this speedy car is expensive.
Mercedes secures 5 of the top spots
For years, Mercedes has held down the #1 spot on the list of cars most expensive to insure. Nissan ended that reign this year, but Mercedes vehicles still hold down 5 of the spots on the list.
Mercedes vehicles are known for their luxury and high price tags, as well as the expensive repair costs. Those that buy this brand should go in knowing that insuring them will be just as expensive.
BMW takes 3 places
Another repeat offender on the list of the most expensive cars to insure is BMW, claiming 3 spots.
Taking a closer look at one of BMW’s finest, the 2019 BMW M760i xDrive gives us a glimpse of a luxury driving experience. How about hot stone massaging seats? Or retractable footrests or built-in fragrance?
(Wait, when did we start talking about spas?)
Long story short, here’s the full list of the top 10 cars that are most expensive to insure.
