About Child Safe, Inc.
Child Safe of Central Missouri, Inc. is located in Sedalia and serves 13 counties. It is a nationally accredited non-profit organization with a mission to provide a safe space for children and teens under the age of 18 who are victims of child abuse. In 2018, Child Safe was able to provide services for over 431 children. As a child advocacy center, its goal is to offer a safe haven for children to tell their story once (and only once) while their case investigation is ongoing.
Founded in 1998, Child Safe opened its doors in 2000 and has been serving Benton, Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Henry, Hickory, Johnson, Lafayette, Linn, Moniteau, Morgan, Pettis, and Saline Counties for 20 years.
Reports of child abuse are made every 10 seconds in the U.S., and Child Safe believes children and teens who have witnessed violence or suffered from physical, sexual, violent or verbal abuse should tell their story once and only once.
By supporting this organization, volunteers and donors contribute to professional training and creating a safe and friendly environment where teens and children and their families can be comfortable and feel secure during the interview process. On average, Child Safe conducts as many as 8 interviews a week, approximately 40 children in a single month, at no cost to the families. These interviews are used to help lawyers, jurors and investigators with the case without putting the child through the experience of abuse over and over again.
Join the Cottontails Eggs-Travaganza
To continue the Child Safe mission, the Cottontails Eggs-Travaganza offers a night of fun and fundraising to adults 21 and older who will eat, play games, win prizes, enjoy music and raise funds for a good cause.
This year, Bryant Motors is offering attendees the chance to hunt for the golden egg containing the photo of a brand-new Jeep Cherokee!
The “hunt” will take place inside a giant Easter egg basket. Participants will choose 10 winning eggs that will earn them tickets, which they can use to enter drawings and win big prizes such as signed Chiefs’ memorabilia, an African safari trip, cash prizes, and, of course, everyone will have a chance to win the Jeep Cherokee!
Tickets are also available at Bryant Motors, which is located on S. Limit Ave. in Sedalia. Individual tickets are $35 and a reserved table of 8 is $240.
We’re proud to help make a difference in the lives of children who have suffered from abuse and need a safe place to begin their road to recovery. Join us at the Missouri State Fairgrounds Agriculture building for your chance to win!
