One special little boy got the parade of his dreams for Christmas 2020 after over 5,000 Jeeps lined his street in Hedgesville, West Virginia.
Four-year-old George “Georgie” Hartlove was diagnosed with stage 4 neurblastoma (cancer in the adrenal glands) and has been hospitalized at St. Jude Children’s Hospital since October 2019. Since he wasn’t able to come home for Christmas in 2019, his doctors allowed him to spend some time at home this past Christmas.
Georgie has a love for Jeeps, so his greatest wish was to have a parade of Jeeps welcome him home. After his mom put out a request on social media, word spread quickly. A Facebook page called “Jeeps for Georgie” was created as well as a GoFundMe page that raised nearly $40,000 for the Hartlove family.
Jeep owners from all over West Virginia and at least 14 other states came to help make Georgie’s dream come true. They covered over 20 miles and many decorated their Jeeps with Christmas lights and other festive decorations. Santa even made an appearance!
Another cool fact is that this parade officially broke the previous record (2,420 Jeeps) in the Guinness World Records for the biggest Jeep parade in history.
All of us here at Bryant Motors wish the best for Georgie and the Hartlove family. Uplifting stories like these truly make our day!
