There are 2 kinds of people in the world — those who watch the Super Bowl for the sport and those who are only there for half-time and the long-anticipated commercials. They’re fun, they’re crazy and most importantly, they’re hysterical.
Now that we’ve had a few weeks to deliberate, the Bryant Motors team has finally ranked and are ready to share our favorite car commercials from the 54th Super Bowl!
So without further ado, here they are:
LeBron James is featured in GMC’s ad, which ranks relatively low on our list for lack of creativity. But we were impressed to get a sneak peek of their newly resurrected Hummer, which no one expected to see. And it’s EV!
Power duo Chrissy Teigen and John Legend ride in style in the “young luxury” Genesis GV80, but the humorless shenanigans put this ad low on our list of favorites.
The new, roomy 2020 Toyota Highlander goes on an adventure with Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother as she picks up one passenger after another across different terrains and climates. The dramatics are fun, and Smulders collects a nice group of misfits that make it fun to watch. But it’s not enough to put this commercial in our top 5 list.
You can never go wrong with an iconic song like “Let It Go” from Frozen. Sung by Maisie Williams with a chorus of background singers, we even started singing along as we watched the new Audi E-Tron Sportback drive across the screen.
“Finally, an electric car that steals” our breath away! Sports car lovers around the world had hearts for eyes watching Porsche’s new ad for their new EV, the Taycan. But the Porsche also features classics in the most luxurious car chase we’ve ever seen.
This commercial takes a serious turn as Josh Jacobs (from the Oakland Raiders) encourages his younger self to never give up on his hopes and dreams. He desires to work hard so one day he can be independent and in a better place, which is why we’ve ranked the Kia Seltos commercial at #3.
Bill Murray’s crazy fun antics made Jeep’s commercial for their new Gladiator neck-and-neck for first place on our list of favorite Super Bowl LIV car commercials.
The Boston accents by Rachel Dratch, Chris Evans and John Krasinski are just a few reasons that make the Hyundai commercial for their new Sonata with Smart Park our favorite. Not only did we enjoy seeing faces familiar to us on the big screen, but a car that parks and unparks itself put this commercial at the top of the list.
